Two Weeks Old

Can it be that our cuteness is already two weeks old! Wow, its amazing how fast your days go when you are not at work. :) And home with a sweet baby in your arms. The last two weeks have been amazing. I have loved and I mean absolutly loved being home with my sweet baby. I love his little noises and how he cuddles up to his mommy. When you get married you offically start your family together, but when you have a child it adds a new special meaning to your family.

Some have wondered how labor went for me, so here is a quick recap.
6:45 am I wake up to wetness. Spend the next 45 minutes deciding if it is my water that has broken and eating a big breakfast just in case it has. (for those who don't know, they don't let you eat once they check you into the hospital) 7:30 am we check into the hospital and shortly thereafter find out that yes indeed my water has broken. Wow. This was nothing like I had expected. I didn't have any contractions and there is no pain. I am also in a huge corner room on the 5th (or 4th) floor with big windows. I am feeling pretty good.
Not too long after they start to induce me. Uh oh, here come the contractions. Not too bad for a while, but soon..."Give me the epidural." Normally epidurals go fairly smooth, but I think it was the guys first time putting one in. I will spare the details, but Ouch!
By 3:00 P.m. I was dialated to a 5. Big whoopy, I was at a 2 two weeks ago. I feel like this will take forever. So we put in a couple movies and Clint is now a fan of one of my favorites, "Sabrina."
We had a few visitors, my sister and mom and Aunt and of course the in laws. That was nice to help pass the time. At 4:45 pm I was to a 10!! Yea! My mom came back in the room and we were cheering. I know, wierd right, I should be in pain. But epidurals really are wonderful.
My doctor came at 6:00 pm and I started pushing. I choose to have the mirror...highly recommended. It totally helped me want to push harder. My epidural was wearing off so by this time I could feel the contractions a little more and tell where to push. (Thanks TJ for the suggestion)
By 7:00 p.m. I was holding my sweet little Tyson in my arms. That is a moment that I will never be able to forget. Words cannont express my emotion. You other moms know what I mean.
The poor guy did, however, have to go to the NICU becuase he couldn't quite get the hang of breathing just right. Heart wrenching for a mom. The tough guys stayed there long enough for me to move rooms and eat a very delicious Burger Supreme Burger and Jamba. (way better than the hospital meal they wanted me to eat) Yum! He was back in our room by 12:00 am.
I was so excited that night that I barely let him out of my arms. I slept about 1 1/2 hours and then was wide away in the morning. What a wonderful experience! (not anxious for the next, but happy to be enjoying the fruits of this one)

I think you're such a natural mom, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I think it is the greatest testimony builder also. I knew more than ever that Heavenly Father really loves me, when I first became a mom.

Were not in our house yet, hopefully soon. I'm sad were not going to be neighbors, are you still looking?

Isn't it the best when you first hold your teeny baby? I remember exactly how it felt and I actually started crying when I was reading this post. I am so lame now that I'm a mom :)
