Tyson's Big Boy Room

With a little girl just two months away I wanted to move Tyson to his new room. But below is how his room looked before.....really boring.

It was kind of a big change because our room and his old room were on the main level and now his room is upstairs. Which actually doesn't effect Tyson much, but it does mean that when he wakes up we have to go upstairs to get him. I know, it doesn't sound like a big deal...especially because he pretty much never wakes up until morning, but Clint was really worried about this change.
Well, with my expert painter sister Tj, we came up with his new room. I couldn't have done it without her.
She inspired the room with a quilt she made Tyson when he was born. From the same fabric line I/we made the name banner, the curtains, and the bed skirt.

 

It was also a big change because if you notice.... he is in a big boy bed!! Its been a week and he has been doing great!! He hasn't gotten out when we put him to bed at night, but he has a couple times for nap time.  With a little persistence from Mom, he stays in for nap time too. Half the time when he wakes up he comes to the door and knocks. It is so stinkin cute. I am so proud of my big boy!

Since the pictures we have put in his dresser and hung some pictures. Tyson loves his new room and bed. If you come over, he will love to show you. 

It took my sister and I about 4 days to paint. You have to wait for drying and such and Tyson loved to watch us. A couple weeks ago, I painted our kitchen wall and when cleaning up I couldn't find an unused paintbrush that I had. The next day I found it in Tyson's room (which at the time we hadn't moved him up). He must have taken it up to help paint. He has been using little brushes to mimick painting since we were up there. Such a little helper.
